- Creating Retouching Presets in Lightroom with Craig's Actions Production Assistants! - Pt. 1

Links to Part 2 & 3 below...

Now you can do the Retouching you need AND use Lightroom to manage your entire Workflow!

With the Raw Image format becoming ever popular for photographers to make use of, new programs such as Lightroom, Bibble and Aperture (among others) have come along to enable the user to efficiently manage their Raw workflow. These provide great control over quality and corrective image issues, but photographers still need the retouching capabilities provided by Photoshop for all of their finished work. They have been forced to work in one program for Raw production, and then start over in another for their creative work and image enhancements. Minor tools for Red Eye, Noise, Cropping etc... are typically provided, but the extended possibilities stop there. Not any more...

Craig's Actions now work as Presets in Adobe Lightroom!

The newest Actions sets from Craig's Actions (www.craigsactions.com) have a very cool extended functionality, and that is in how they can be used as Export Presets from Adobe Lightroom. Not only do the Production Assistant Photoshop Actions offer the most effective way to address your retouching and post-production workload, they can now be combined with one of the leading programs for RAW Conversion and Workflow management.

* They even work with mixed format batches, so you can run JPG's on their own, or with RAW formats all at the same time!

Nothing else offers that kind of retouching capability, and no other Photoshop Actions or Plugins can do what Craig's Production Assistant Actions can do, especially when combined with Adobe Lightroom!

A special moment, captured in a tricky exposure setting... Critical RAW adjustments in LR were followed by the PA Portrait Warm Action to bring back the warm & soft feeling of those moments throughout the entire session... This whole process is actually quite simple, making use of a series of steps that are all combined to enable the Lightroom Exported image to seamlessly flow through Photoshop for the full retouching and extended production process.

Just imagine ten, hundreds or even thousands of images all completely retouched using a fully automated production process, all in a single batch!

You're not even restricted to Raw Files... The wedding image below is a JPG original that benefits from the Color, Noise and Hilight controls, before becoming part of the full batch process using the range of PA Wedding Actions!

The Production Assistant (PA) Actions are in fact complete workflows in themselves, looking after issues including Exposure, Contrast, Saturation, Selective Softening, Vignetting, Sharpening and more, then creating optimized outputs for Print, Web and Backup - all at the touch of a single button! It's easier to think of these all-in-one workflows not as Actions, but rather as powerful production tools that live in your Action Palette. No Plugins or other Actions compare or even come close to what can be accomplished with these PA Workflow Photoshop Actions.

While the PA Actions can be used individually or within a Batch operation in Photoshop already, the excitement really ramps up when you see how they can be used in combination of a RAW workflow managed by Adobe Lightroom.
